after setting my 2017 bike goal I was noodling around with the monthly increments needed to reach 500 miles on the year. I wanted to avoid a heavy start leading to checkins like this one from December 2015
So I set my goal at 42 miles per month, or 1/12th of 500. I think I’m still on track but a weird thing has happened with my gym visits since last Saturday when I came back to New York.
I started to run. Well, jog. 4.5 MPH. I’m doing Runkeeper’s version of the Couch To 5K as it’s more gradual and in line with my schedule as well as fitness level.
I don’t know where this is going, but I’ll follow it. And if it means I fall short of 500 miles on the bike because some of those gym visits have more time on the treadmill? I’m OK with that.
